LADER
SUMMARY
The current internship app landscape is very sparse, and students seeking to start their career are having a tough time finding the right internships to get their foot in the door. Platforms like Linkedin, Indeed and Monster.com, have a strong focus on full-time and part-time opportunities, with very little focus on internship positions. Lader is here to fix that.

THE GOAL AND NEED
The goal for Lader is to be the all in one app for students to discover the perfect internship in order to kickstart their career. There has been a need in the current market for students to create an online presence where they can share their skillset, education and specialization in order for them to land an internship opportunity.
UNDERSTANDING THE TARGET AUDIENCE
After grasping an understanding of the challenges and gaps in the current app market for internships, I wanted to better identify the main target audience that Lader will focus on. Once sufficient knowledge was gathered, I knew I can design an app that can be tailored to the needs and goals of students looking to find the right internship for their career start.
After grasping an understanding of the challenges and gaps in the current app market for internships, I wanted to identify the frustrations that students felt when trying to find an internship.

WIREFRAMES
After completing the extensive research, I was able to start creating wireframes that incorporated the feedback that students were giving me, in order to create an app that solved their pain points and provided an experience that made it easy to search, and apply for internships that suited them.
UI DESIGN
Once the wireframes were complete, I was able to design the high fidelity screens utilizing a light and comforting sky blue, with contrasting black and white to create a minimal and welcoming experience. Right when a user opens the app, they are met with a friendly splash screen, then they have the option to Log In or Create an Account.
ONBOARDING
Lader offers an easy to follow onboarding experience giving any student the opportunity to create a customized profile by choosing the industry they want to intern for, adding their education and languages in order to generate results of internships that are tailored to their unique profile.
HOME AND INTERNSHIP POST
Once a user logs in for the first time or returns to the app, they are met with a modern and straight forward home screen, where in a snapshot can start searching for internships or see a list of recent ones that have been added. They then have the option to click on an internship they are interested in, and apply right away.
PROFILE
The best way to get traction, engagement and oppoutunities for internships is by having a strong profile. Lader's student profile interface is an all in one experience, where you can customize your work experience, your education and give insightful information about yourself. Creating a profile that stands out from the rest and increases the chances of landing an internship.
MESSAGING
In order to have the community feel which is missing in a lot of job/internship applications is a great messaging feature. Lader offers an intuitive messaging option, where students can talk to other connections and also speak to recruiters for internships they want to apply to.
ADD A POST
Lader offers users the ability to add posts to their profile, in order to share their interests, opinions and also ask any questions they might have towards an internship. This feature helps to make Lader be more of a community rather than just a quick internship app to just apply and close.
CLIMBING THE LADDER TO SUCCESS
Looking for internships can be extremely difficult and the idea of Lader was to design an app that matched student's needs. An app where students can find the best internship opportunities based off of their knowledge and preferences. Creating an experience that is seamless, easy to use and most importantly one that they want to return to.
